I am a doctoral student in Canadian history. I love to do research and to write, particularly on issues related to migration and gender history.  Some of my favourite movies include Life is Beautiful, Swing Kids, The Darjeeling Limited, and Magnolia.  I love to play sports, especially basketball, and I hope to learn tennis this summer.  I love to read!!  Some of my favourite novels are Wally Lamb’s She’s Come Undone, Miriam Toews’ A Complicated Kindness, Monica Ali’s Brick Lane, Ann-Marie MacDonald’s Fall on your Knees, Andrea Levy’s Small Island, Dionne Brand’s What we all Long For, Barbara Kingsolver’s The Poisonwood Bible, and J.D.
